Peggy “Peg” Ann (Lenart) Weber was born February 27, 1956, to Paul and Anna Dneaster Lenart in Peoria, Illinois.

Peg was the youngest child with four elder siblings: Marion, Edward “Ed”, Robert, and Jerry. Peg shared having a happy childhood. A few elements she remembered fondly were receiving Presidential Fitness Awards in both seventh and eighth grades, being a “spelling B champ,” narrating the school plays, and learning to play the mandolin and guitar at a young age with the help of her father.

After graduating from Metamora High School in Metamora, Illinois, Peg worked at NAPA Auto Parts and was the second “parts girl” in Peoria, Illinois. A few years later, she moved to Arizona, where she worked on roofing installation. Peg then moved to Springfield, Colorado, to help care for her beloved uncle, Joe Lenart. As his health improved, Peg moved to Lamar.

In the early 1980s, Peg met Robert “Bob” Weber at the Stagecoach Motor Hotel where Peg was working as a bartender. October 26, 1985, Peg and Bob married. Peg and Bob went on to have four children: Miranda Ann, Alanna Garnette, Lauren Grace, and Natalya Lorain.

Peg became interested in nursing and received her Licensed Practical Nurse from Lamar Community College, and her Registered Nurse from Otero Junior College. Peg worked hard to be at the top of her classes while also caring for her children and driving long hours from her home in Sheridan Lake. Peg’s education was a source of great pride to both herself and her family. Peg was an outstanding nurse and cared deeply for the well-being of her patients.

Peg self-identified as a trickster and was the life of the party. A favorite pastime of hers was sending birthday cards filled with glitter, where the receiver had a birthday surprise indeed.

Peg’s home was often filled with music, whether on her signature Bose CD player, or through her own singing. Peg could often be found outside tending to her flowers, at a concert, playing cards by the fireplace, on the phone with her siblings or friends, or out fishing. Peg was also a gifted writer, leaving behind stories and poems that her family will treasure.

Peg made a friend everywhere she went, and her daughters lost track of how many people referred to their mom as “Aunt Peg,” including Gordon Lightfoot and his band, whom in later years would set aside concert tickets for her when they were in town.

Peg loved deeply, and her warmth and light will be missed by those who knew her.

Peggy Ann Weber passed away December 20, 2023, after experiencing an unexpected brain bleed.

Peg was predeceased by her parents, Anna Dneaster Lenart and Paul Lenart; several aunts and uncles; brother, Robert Lenart; and nephews, Jeff Lenart and Brian Lenart.

Peg is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Miranda, Alanna (husband, Alex Bowen), Lauren (husband, James Mingle), and Natalya (husband, Nicholas Creed); siblings, Marion Epping, Edward Lenart (wife, Ani), Jerry Lenart (wife, Terri); and numerous other family members and friends.

Per Peg’s request, there will be no services held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Smoky River Golf Course, P.O. Box 245, Cheyenne Wells, CO 80810.
