- One of the most outstanding projects completed by the Haswell students was a free-hand colored chalk drawing with direction and the supervision of their teacher Lane Gooden.
- Florence and Eddie from Kit Carson county received the Service to Agriculture Award in recognition of various 4-H and Ag activities for years.

- B & L Liquor at 115 W. Highway 287/96 held a grand opening.
- The Eads High School Band is still selling delicious Manor Texas Fruit Cakes.

- The entire grade school, as well as the high school Glee Club, will participate in the sacred cantata “The Glory of Christmas” at the Eads gym.
