- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: USDA will be getting a new office building in Eads this year.
- Members of the Chamber of Commerce prepared a breakfast for people attending the 4-day Snow Goose Festival.
- Kit Carson Clips- Marilyn White: There have been eight bald eagles who have made their home in this area.

- The RE-1 School Board voted to accept the donation of the former Plains Theatre building from George Crow for school and community use.
- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Kiowa County had the highest average yield and third highest production for winter wheat of any county in Colorado for 1998.
- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: Coming into Hugo last week were 30 or 40 wild turkeys in a line crossing the highway.
