Cooler temperatures and a chance for storms continues Tuesday across Kiowa County.

High temperatures will be in the mid-80s for most of the county, with Arlington seeing upper 80s by this afternoon. Temperatures are expected to be 10 or more degrees cooler than the end of last week, and closer to seasonal norms.

Overnight, look for low 60s across the county.

Light afternoon winds up to 10 miles per hour out of the southeast are predicted.

Late day and early evening thunderstorms are possible. Most areas will receive less than one-then inch of rain, thought thunderstorms that do develop could produce locally heavier rainfall.

Low 90s return Wednesday through Friday, with potential for a return to the mid-80s for the weekend.

Currently, KiowaCountyPress.net Live Weather from downtown Eads shows [weather:currwinddir] wind at [weather:currwindspeed] mph. Early Monday morning, winds were gusting to 17 mph. The current temperature is [weather:currtemp], with [weather:currrain] inches of rain so far today. Yesterday, 0.51 inches of rain was recorded in Eads, with an unofficial high of 91. The strongest wind gust since midnight was [weather:todaymaxwindspeed] mph, while the high temperature for the day so far was [weather:todayhightemp] at [weather:todayhightemptime].

Elsewhere in Colorado, the risk for flooding has returned to the mountains. Many rivers and streams are running at or near bank-full. Minor flooding is expected continue along the Arkansas River in Otero and Bent counties as water is released from Pueblo Reservoir.

A fire weather watch is in effect for Moffat and Rio Blanco counties. Conditions in the area Wednesday and Thursday may be favorable for fires to ignite and spread quickly.
