Didn't get around to calling people so will just touch base on what I know (which won't take long).

I went to Goodland last Monday to pick up our grandson, Parker. He was supposed to leave Denver around 9:00 a.m. on the bus. It was delayed in Utah and they didn't leave Denver until noon, so I finally got him around 3:00 p.m. It had been a long day as his only ride to the bus station had to drop him off at 7:00 a.m. He was really glad to finally get to Towner. Wednesday, I drove to Denver and picked up our son, Craig, and wife, Laurie, and daughter, Mikyla, at DIA. We finally got home around 11:00 p.m.

My nephew, Jason, and family from Colorado Springs and his mother, Donna, were planning to join us for Thanksgiving dinner. On their way to pick up Donna, one of his daughters got sick, so they decided to stay in the Springs and not bring the flu to our home. As it turned out, I was sick Friday and Saturday but felt fine by Sunday. Our son, Mark, and daughters, Ryley and Bree, and son, Tom, and friend Chad arrived Friday to spend the weekend. We celebrated Christmas Saturday as no one was coming back for the holiday. All in all, we had a great time visiting, eating and playing cards.

Tom took Craig and his family back to Denver Sunday. Craig, Parker and Tom attended the Bronco football game, and Laurie and Mikyla shopped. Tom came home after the game, and Craig took Parker back to Fort Collins to college. Craig and family spent Sunday night with the Mary Budde-Ragan family, and will fly home Monday to New Jersey. Mark and girls and Chad had bad weather getting back to their homes in Winfield and Hesston, Kansas. They dealt with icy roads and white out conditions, but everyone finally made it home by mid-afternoon.

A busy week ahead for Plainview. The first High School girls and boys basketball games will be Friday at Lone Star. It will be a long trip for everyone. A former Plainview graduate, Trina (Sexson) Bone, is on the school board at Lone Star. We also have picture re-takes scheduled for Thursday.

Saturday is December 1, don't forget the Community Club's pancake supper and craft fair that evening. Come on out and enjoy the meal and do some Christmas shopping at the craft fair.

We did get all our Christmas outdoor lights up by the time the family arrived for Thanksgiving. They will be on now from dusk to around 10:30 each evening, so come and enjoy. We had a few things to fix today after the terrible winds we had last night and this morning.

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. Have a great week!!
