The Fruita Fat Tire Festival: A Mountain Biker’s Dream

If you’re a mountain biker looking to enjoy the spring weather, Fruita, Colorado has just the event you need. The 24th Annual Fruita Fat Tire Festival is approaching, and mountain bikers across the country are anticipating this diverse, family-friendly expo. From May 3-5, join Fruita locals to celebrate the sport of mountain biking. Featuring bike demos, product expos, guided rides, and even street parties, this event has everything a lover of the sport could ask for.

Bike Demos

When: May 3rd and 4th, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; May 5th, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Visit Fruita’s very own Over the Edge Sports to learn about some of the newest bike models. Stop by and demo a few bikes—there may be a few new features that’ll interest you.

Product Expos

When: May 3rd and 4th, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; May 5th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The expo portion of the festival has so much to look at—and it’s no wonder. Explore and learn about the latest mountain biking technology and gear from some of the top vendors and professionals in the mountain biking industry.

Guided Rides

When: May 3rd, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Kessel Run); May 4th, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Pumps, Bumps, and Rollers Trail); May 4th, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Joe’s Ridge)

Participate in the beloved sport with a guided ride or two. The festival offers three separate rides along Kessel Run; the Pumps, Bumps, and Rollers Trail; and Joe’s Ridge. These trails feature the perfect difficulty levels and terrains to remind you why you fell in love with mountain biking in the first place.

Fruita Street Parties

When: May 3rd and 4th, 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Once the daylight fades to night, hop off your bike and have some in downtown Fruita. Featuring live music and a beer tent, this festival doesn’t stop when the sun goes down.

Register before April 30th if you want to save on the price of your festival pass. Otherwise, check-in and registration are on the first day of the event, May 3rd, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
