We are pleased to release our reopening plan for the Granada School District RE-1, which will allow us to return to in-person learning. The reopening plan is located on the school website at www.granadaschools.org. This plan has been approved by the Prowers County Department of Public Health and Environment and the Granada RE-1 School Board. Guidance for the plan was provided by the Colorado Department of Education, the Prowers County Department of Public Health, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Any parent/guardian/student that has concerns about returning to school will be able to go to school online. Granada School will provide the curriculum for the student, designate and assign grades, and ensure that the student receives credit towards promotion and/or graduation for passing grades. Please contact Mr. Hopper or Mr. Kemp if you would like to discuss this option.

As you will notice in our reopening plan, students and staff ages 11 and older will need to wear masks while in school. Students ages 10 and under are not required, but certainly may, wear masks if they so choose.

We are asking that all students (providing they are safely able to do so) wear masks on the school bus. This is due to the close proximity of students on the bus and for the safety of the students and driver.

All students will have their temperature checked prior to entering the school each morning.

Bus students will have their temperature checked prior to getting on the bus in the morning.

In order ensure the completion of the construction at the school, students will start school on AUGUST 12 • Please note the date change. School will begin at 7:50 a.m. and end at 3:45 p.m. Granada Schools will be on a 4-day school week for the 2020-2021 school year.

Please contact me at 734-5492 or ty.kemp@granadaschools.org with any questions or concerns you may have as we begin the school year.

As always, we appreciate you sending your child(ren) to Granada School District RE-1.

I look forward to seeing you soon.
