Alice (Jean) Fetty was born in Colorado Springs to Henry Arthur Hammer and Ella (Virginia) Hammer (Baker) October 27, 1942. At the age of 79, Jean died peacefully in her home after a long and brave battle with dementia.

Jean was known by everyone to be an avid doll collector, maker, repairing dolls, and giving lessons for porcelain dolls and ceramic. She belonged to several doll clubs over the years, but we remember the Doll Dreamers Doll Club the most. Jean continued her affection for dolls in some of her jobs over the years. She made composition bodies for Dick.

She used her other skills at Mill Outlet and she owned The Doll Hut. Other jobs she had were a teller at a bank in Fountain, Mill Outlet, Hanover school bus driver, and Lana Sue (her cousin) for education in Security.

However, there are some additional things that most people do not know about Jean. She was a 4-H member, and the highlight of her 4-H career was her cooking project - she earned a trip to Chicago for her rolls. There were several other contributions that she made as a volunteer in 4-H and other organizations. She was a wrestling coach at Hanover School, election judge, 4-H leader where she helped 4-H members and her kids with projects, record books and national report forms.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Fetty Jr. of 58 years; parents, Henry and Virginia; brother, Richard Lee; and grandson, Hadley Durham.

She is survived by her children, Anita (Pat) Durham, Sara (Randy) Ivicic, Matt Fetty, and Bryon (Lory) Fetty; grandchildren, Ethan Durham (Anita), Jem, Chris and Cody (Sara), Erika, Arena and Elizabeth (Matt) Garrett and Grant (Bryon); great grandchildren, Tally Jo, Hanna, Lexi, Calhan, Ruby, Alicia and Jem; brothers, Ernie and Elmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial services were held at Hanover Community Church, in Hanover October 22, 2022, followed by graveside services at Chico Basin Cemetery in Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, Jean’s family asks for donations to Lincoln County Community Hospital and Hospice, 111 6th Street, Hugo CO 80821.

Arrangements were under the direction of Love Funeral Home.
