Patricia Ellen Borders, loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and great great grandma, passed away in her home with her husband at her side February 23, 2024, at the age of 90.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  Everyone knew Patricia as Patty.

Patty was born April 24,1933 in Cheyenne Wells to Archie and Laura Lowe.

She graduated from Cheyenne Wells High School and attended two years of college studying pharmacy until she had to come home to help on the family farm and ranch.

She married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Lee Borders, August 29, 1954. Over the next six years, three sons joined the family: Richard, James William (Bill), and Mark.

Patty and Dick first lived in Stratton. They then moved to Arriba, where Dick worked in the family-owned grain elevator. They then moved to Genoa, where Dick managed the family-owned grain elevator.   Patty helped Dick at the elevator doing bookwork.

The family moved to a farm outside of Genoa in 1973. She lived in this home for the rest of her life. Patty enjoyed going to the activities of her three sons.  She attended almost all the boys sporting events.

Dick retired from the elevator in 1975, and Patty and Dick became full time farmers and ranchers.  Patty took pride in being active in managing and working on the farm.  She loved the ground and the cows that she and Dick had.  She enjoyed working in her yard taking care of her flowers and trees.

Patty was very active in the Genoa United Methodist Church and the Methodist women.  She was on the hospital board for several years. Patty was very proud of being a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years, and held most of the officer positions.

Patty and Dick were married for 69 years.

Patty leaves behind her husband, Dick; sons, Richard and wife Brenda of Arriba, Bill and wife Sue of Peyton, and Mark and wife Gretchen of Wheatland, Wyoming; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Arrangements are under the direction of Love Funeral Home.
