  • The Eads Board of Trustees tabled indefinitely the measure for sales tax in the town of Eads.
  • Wind erosion of about 20 tons per acre occurred in Kiowa County during the spring of 1976.
  • The U.S. Postal Service will soon announce that the U.S. Post Office in Haswell will be discountinued.

  • Accidental discovery of 2 aeroplane engines deep in the mud of Blue Lake by 2 men seining for carp at the lake.

100 Years Ago - June 18, 1926

  • A prize was offered at the close of school in Eads to the pupil who turned in most schoolbooks. One turned 47.
