  • Kiowa County Sheriff Forrest Frazee implement a Stage 1 Fire restriction in unincorporated areas of the county due to dry conditions and high to very high fire danger.

  • Peoples Natural Gas is asking for a raise in graduated rates plus an increase in the minimum monthly charge.
  • Of the 72 dead waterfowl tested at Turks Pond in the Two Buttes area, 70 exhibited a positive reaction and are suffering from avian cholera.

100 Years Ago - March 19, 1926

  • Community Public Sale to be held on the lots just north of the First National Bank building in Eads.
  • Eads and Lamar boys matched wits and skill on the bowling alley in Eads. Lamar won by one game.
  • Why not paint that old car top. Get a can of Goodyear Rubber Paint at Givans Garage. It will make your cushions and side curtains like new.
  • Sheridan Lake Items: Quite a number of our citizens drove to Sharon Springs to see the new lake.
