Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Southeast Colorado will have access to free business training, funding connections and networking later this month when Rural Startup Days launches its first regional startup week–style event, organizers announced.

Rural Startup Days is scheduled for February 25–27 at the Otero College Student Center in La Junta. The three-day event is designed to deliver hands-on programming and practical support to local entrepreneurs and small businesses across Southeast Colorado.

The event is organized by Startup Colorado in partnership with Otero College and SEBREA. Participation is free and open to a broad audience, including entrepreneurs, small business owners, students, ranchers, farmers, early-stage founders and community members interested in economic development. Registration is recommended, though attendees may come and go throughout the event.

Programming will bring together entrepreneurs, funders, business experts and community leaders, with a focus on strengthening local businesses and supporting long-term economic resilience in the region.

“Anyone starting, growing, or stabilizing a business in Southeast Colorado will find value here,” said Vanessa McCrann, managing director at Startup Colorado and the event’s lead organizer. “Attendees can expect practical tools, clearer pathways to funding and year-round support, meaningful connections, and insights they can apply immediately.”

Rural Startup Days is sponsored by Startup Colorado, Colorado SecureSavings and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, SEBREA and Connect for Health Colorado.

Additional information and registration details are available at RuralStartupDays.com or by emailing the event organizers.
