Sunny skies and highs in the low 80s are expected in Eads and across Kiowa County on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with no precipitation in the forecast and breezier winds arriving by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Wednesday brings sunshine and a high near 82 degrees, a few degrees cooler than the mid-80s of Tuesday. Northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph will shift to the southeast in the afternoon. Wednesday night will be mostly clear with a low around 53.

A meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pueblo wrote in Tuesday’s Area Forecast Discussion that “conditions will remain pretty consistent Thursday through Saturday,” with highs in the low to mid 80s over the plains. The forecaster noted that above-average temperatures are expected through the end of the week, and that showers and storms will stay mostly over the mountains.

Dry weather, no fire warnings

No watches, warnings or advisories were listed for Kiowa County as of Tuesday afternoon. Humidity and wind will be worth watching later in the week as southerly winds pick up, though no Red Flag Warning is in effect.
