Regular Council Meeting

April 14, 2026

The meeting was called to order by mayor Joe Shields at 5:00 P.M.

Roll call was taken by Robin Fox. Those council members present were Stephanie Sewell, Junior McDowell, Kathy McCracken, Dennis Pearson and Tim Trosper. Mikahael Rogers, assistant Town Clerk, was present. Trent Rittgers, Director of Public Works, Lance Clark Town Attorney and guest present was Kelly Courkamp.

Public Comment-

MINUTES

Stephanie Sewell made a motion to approve the March minutes that were presented. Junior McDowell seconded the motion. All Ayes

APPROVAL OF BILLS

A motion was made by Kathy McCracken to approve the bills and seconded by Junior McDowell. All Ayes.

OLD BUSINESS

Airport- Tabled

CLCEC Library- Kelly Courkamp was present and gave an update on the grants she has applied for. She applied for tax credits on January 20^th for $325,000 dollars. She also applied for a state historic fund grant for $205,000 dollars. She should hear back from them mid June. They applied for an emergency grant in October 2025 to put the doors in before winter they didn’t receive the money until February. That grant was $5,300.

A T-Mobile grant was applied for by Megan Herran for $50,000 at the end of May.
