NOTICE OF ELECTION
TOWN OF KIT CARSON MUNICIPAL ELECTION
The Town of Kit Carson is seeking nominations for the municipal election to be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
There will be five (5) seats available for election, as follows:
- Mayor – four-year term
- Three (3) Trustee positions – four-year terms
- One (1) Trustee position – two-year term
Qualifications for Office:
Candidates must:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a registered voter
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age on the date of the election
- Have resided within the Town of Kit Carson for at least twelve (12) consecutive months immediately prior to the election
Nomination Petitions:
Nomination petitions may be picked up at Kit Carson Town Hall,
301 Main Street, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., beginning Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Completed petitions must be returned to Town Hall no later than
Monday, January 26, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
All petitions must be signed by registered voters residing within the Town of Kit Carson.
