Rebecca "Becky" June Tallman

February 25, 1952 - February 16, 2021

Becky was the daughter of Betty Jo and Wayne E. Tallman. She was born in Burlington February 25, 1952.  She grew up on the family farm with her parents and two brothers just north of Brandon. Rebecca June Tallman passed away peacefully at her home in Denver on February 16, 2021.

A service celebrating Becky's life will be held Friday, February 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Cheyenne Wells.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25 at Brown Funeral Home in Cheyenne Wells.

Private family interment will take place in the Brandon Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

One arrested on felony drug charge in Kiowa County

The Kiowa County Sheriff's Office announced Friday that one person was arrested earlier in February on felony drug charges.

According to information provided by KCSO, deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive person in a vehicle on Highway 96 between Chivington and Brandon in eastern Kiowa County. At the scene, deputies found the woman, identified as Yadira Chavarria-Enriquez, incoherent and called for an ambulance while providing basic medical care until emergency medical services arrived.

Hello, Kiowa County!

I hope that you all are doing well. I know that we have all been wishing we could just get back to normal. Unfortunately, we do not know when this will happen.

I know that this past year was challenging for you as it has been for everybody. We cannot let the past dim our future. It is my hope that we can move forward to a more successful and involved year.
