Three tornado warnings were issued in southeast Colorado Tuesday evening, with two tornadoes confirmed by spotter near Sugar City in Crowley County.

Neva Jean (Amidon) Herrell passed away on the morning of February 19, 2020, with her son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Kendra, at her side.
Neva was born in Kansas City, Kansas, June 18, 1924. She was the daughter of Edward Carlisle and Ester Helen (Keys) Amidon.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin construction on an eight-mile segment of U.S. Highway 50 between Fowler and Manzanola in March which will cause a full closure of the road and a detour on to Highways 96 and 71.
The closure and detour for the $11 million project are set to begin March 16 as CDOT works to widen and lengthen a passing lane, repair bridges and rebuild the crumbling roadway. CDOT is closing the highway during construction period for the safety of workers.
Coming off another 2nd Place team finish in Crowley County, the County Line Rivals came home with 4- 1st place finishers, 3 - 2nd place finishers, and 1 - 3rd place finisher. Crowley County came away with the 1st place finish with 144 points to County Line's 136.5.

Betty Jean Bean Igou was born January 1, 1930, in Crowley and went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2019. She lived on her parents' farm and went to school in Crowley, where she graduated in 1948.
After attending business school in La Junta, she moved to Hugo in 1949, where she worked for the Lincoln County ASC office.
Part of Highway 71 south of Ordway will be closed starting Monday as work begins to replace a bridge over the Arkansas River. According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the closure is expected to continue through late October.
Access to businesses along the highway will remain available, however a three-quarter mile segment between mile markers 18.75 and 19.5 will be inaccessible as the aging bridge is replaced.
