Donna J. Heddles, formerly of Lamar, was born July 7, 1937, at Monte Vista and passed away November 6, 2021, at Prairie Pines Assisted Living Center in Eads.
Delta and Mesa counties in western Colorado have received a USDA disaster designation due to freezing conditions in April this year.
Water levels have dropped at Crawford State Park and the boat ramp at the reservoir will close at the end of the day Sunday, July 22.
The reservoir is down 46 feet from full capacity. People can still put in hand-launched craft such as canoes, paddleboards and kayaks. However, boats with motors are no longer allowed this season.
Colorado U.S. Senators Michael Bennet (D) and Cory Gardner (R), along with U.S. Representative Scott Tipton (R-CO-3), today announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce has awarded $1.5 million to support business growth in rural Colorado.
"These grants provide critical funding to assist rural communities with workforce development and job creation efforts," Bennet said. "We will continue our work with the EDA in Delta and Montrose counties to assist communities that are struggling with job losses in the coal industry."
