Limon senior awarded 2022 Conservation Tillage Association scholarship

The Colorado Conservation Tillage Association is proud to announce that Tailyn Thompson of Genoa has been selected as the recipient of the $1,000 CCTA Scholarship for 2022. 

A senior attending Limon High School, Thompson has diligently served her community through 4-H, FFA, and school-related activities. She was raised on a farm and ranch north of Genoa, Colorado, where she developed a deep-rooted passion for agriculture and learned about the importance of soil and water conservation.

November 13, 1930 - October 28, 2021

Kenneth Dewayne Jett was born November 13, 1930, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, to Samuel Joseph and Ruby Agnes (Thompson) Jett. Kenneth was the oldest of 10 children. 

He graduated from Quail High School in Quail, Texas, in 1950. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and served in Germany from 1950 to 1953. 

September 4, 1953, in Wellington, Texas, he married Lillian Fern Neeley.

Alice Elizabeth Bledsoe

January 23, 1926 - August 17, 2021

Alice Elizabeth Bledsoe of Aroya peacefully passed away August 17, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at the Lincoln Park Assisted Living facility in Hugo. Alice was born January 23, 1926, to Joseph C. and Helen Cotellessa in Paterson, New Jersey, and grew up in Ridgewood. 

She had very fond memories of their neighborhood, and she and her brother Robert had some wonderful adventures.

A time of celebrating and honoring the life of Keith James will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ellis Allen Building at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Hugo.

Private family committal services were held at the Bucklen Cemetery in Karval.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Alice Jean Weisdorfer Davis Nordick

June 14, 1933 - May 4, 2021

Alice Jean, preferring to be called Jeany or Jean, was born June 14, 1933, to Lawrence and Grace (Herschler) Weisdorfer. The eldest of four children, Jean spent her childhood years growing up on a farm in the Prairie Queen District North of Haswell. Jean attended her first years of school at Prairie Queen and later rode the school bus to Eads for grade school.
