April is Clean-Up Month in Lamar
The City of Lamar's Public Works Department is encouraging our community to clean up our properties and town in April in preparation for Lamar celebrating its 140th birthday in May. The Lamar Transfer Station and Landfill will accept household waste free of charge each weekend in April. This excludes construction and demolition waste as well as commercial trash.
April dates are the 4/4; 4/11; 4/12; 4/18; 4/19; 4/25; and 4/26. Neither the Lamar Transfer Station nor the Landfill will be open on Easter Sunday, April 5th.
Transfer Station
- 609 Crystal Street
- 1 pickup load, per household per day
- E-waste accepted
- Up to 4 tires per day (excludes semi tires)
Landfill
- 29141 County Road 14 (6 miles east of Lamar on Hwy 50 and 2 miles south on County Road 14).
- Unlimited loads per day
- E-waste accepted
- Up to 9 tires per day (semi tires accepted at extra charge)
Hours:
- Saturdays 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- Sundays 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM
Additional information regarding the Community Clean-up weekends:
- No curbside pickup is available. All trash must be taken to the Transfer Station or Landfill.
- All loads must be tarped.
- Must provide valid ID with address in city limits or utility bill.
Sanitation customers must bring proof of bill for sanitation/trash. - Paint, oil and pesticides must be labeled.
