Boggsville Days 2025 is ratcheting up to a three-day celebration at the Boggsville Historic Site. Festivities kick off October 3 with a dance and beer garden featuring the red-hot country western band, CappTon Reid

History comes to life October 4-5 as Boggsville celebrates its rich multi-cultural heritage with events for all ages! Experience life at Boggsville in the 1860s: visit the blacksmith, sample some chuckwagon cooking and chat with a few miners on their way to the gold fields. Or you can take a guided wagon ride to learn the history of Boggsville and its residents. Tour the original, restored Boggs and Prowers houses built in 1866 and 1867 and see the site of Kit Carson’s last home.

For the young and young at heart, attend class in an 1860s school room, step into the tipis, or try your hand at laundry on a washboard. Kids can learn the symbols and sign language of the plains Indians and trappers, play period games, enjoy piñatas and stick horses and sack races.

Enjoy demonstrations on butter making, cooking tortillas over an open fire, antique munitions firing and multi-cultural dancers. Kit Carson’s great grandson will be there to talk about his famous ancestor. Don’t forget the Trade Room and vendors for souvenirs, books, homemade soap, art and more.

To satisfy your hunger and thirst, Saturday there is a benefit lunch of pulled pork, cowboy beans, and coleslaw available from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for $10.00/plate and concessions all day. Sunday enjoy a burrito and green chili benefit brunch 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. All meals and drinks come with a souvenir cup with unlimited refills. All proceeds go to the preservation of the Boggsville Historic Site.

Festivities Saturday run from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Admission is free both days. Friday’s dance is from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Donations are requested for admission.
