The City of Lamar will begin accepting Petitions for Nomination for the upcoming municipal election, scheduled for November, starting on August 6, 2025. Eligible individuals interested in running for Mayor or City Council may pick up petitions at the City Clerk’s Office located in the City Complex at 102 East Parmenter in Lamar. The deadline to file completed petitions with the City Clerk is 4:00 PM on August 29, 2025.

Positions open for re-election:

• Ward I – One City Council Member (Four-Year Term)
• Ward II – One City Council Member (Four-Year Term)
• Ward III – One City Council Member (Four-Year Term)
• At-Large – Mayor (Two-Year Term)
