Colorado Connections Academy honors two graduates from Kit Carson County
Colorado Connections Academy honored approximately 364 graduates, including students from Kit Carson County, during a traditional commencement ceremony May 27, 2026, at Magness Arena at the University of Denver.
Eastern Colorado graduates included Jasmine Arthur and Alyssa Mulholland, both of Stratton in Kit Carson County. The tuition-free online public school serves students statewide in grades K-12.
Among the Class of 2026, 27 percent plan to attend two- or four-year colleges or universities, including Arizona State University, Colorado State University, Hawaii Pacific University, New York University, and Texas Tech University. Another 24 percent plan to enter the workforce, while others plan to pursue vocational training, military service, performing arts pathways, or a gap year. Graduates were collectively awarded more than $850,000 in scholarships and awards.
"At our school, we believe there are many paths to success, and we strive to prepare students with the skills, experiences, and connections they need through college prep, career readiness programs, and more," said Bryan Hill, Colorado Connections Academy's Executive Director. "Our programs help open doors to real-world experiences where students can gain access to mentors, internships, and industry leaders."
Valedictorian Matthias Hesser of New Castle is graduating with nearly 35 college credits completed through the school's dual enrollment offering with Colorado Mountain College.
Colorado Connections Academy serves more than 3,000 students in grades K-12 across the state. The school's College and Career Readiness program, available to middle and high school students, blends core academic coursework with industry-aligned pathways including IT, business, health sciences, and marketing.
