Across Kiowa County Saturday, temperatures will be 10 or more degrees cooler than Friday’s highs, with chances for rain and thunderstorms increasing later in the day.

High’s in the low 80s are expected under partly sunny skies. Overnight, lows in the upper 50s are predicted.

Later in the day – mainly after 5:00 p.m. – showers and thunderstorms become likely, producing between one-tenth and one-quarter inches of rain. Storms and rain are expected to continue into the late evening hours.

For southeast Colorado, storms that do develop are not expected to be as severe as Friday’s conditions, which prompted a late-day watch for most of the eastern half of the state. Further north, severe storms with large hail become more likely during the late afternoon and early evening. Tornadoes are also a possibility for the northeast quadrant of Colorado, particularly for counties along the Colorado-Wyoming-Nebraska border.

Conditions Sunday will be similar, though chances for rain decrease slightly in the current outlook.

Currently, KiowaCountyPress.net Live Weather from downtown Eads shows [weather:currwinddir] wind at [weather:currwindspeed] mph. Friday morning, winds were gusting to 23 mph. The current temperature is [weather:currtemp], with [weather:currrain] inches of rain so far today. Yesterday, 0.04 inches of rain was recorded in Eads, with an unofficial high of 88. The strongest wind gust since midnight was [weather:todaymaxwindspeed] mph, while the high temperature for the day so far was [weather:todayhightemp] at [weather:todayhightemptime].

Elsewhere in Colorado, minor flooding continues for a few north central streams and rivers as an extended snowmelt runoff season draws to a close.
