- Eads will be hosting the Cal Ripkin Twelve & Under State Baseball Tournament.
- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Most areas in the county received welcome rain. Wheat harvest nearly complete with reports poor to favorable.
25 Years Ago - July 13, 2001
- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Some of the best yields in the county are being reported from north of Haswell. A large portion of the wheat acres in the county never made it to harvest.
- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: This computer stuff never ceases to amaze me. A fellow riding a bicycle from France stopped at the city office to use their computer to get his email from his father and girlfriend.
40 Years Ago - July 11, 1986
- Mary Marble of Chivington was the recipient of a 35-year gold service pin for her years with the United States Postal Service.
50 Years Ago - July 9, 1976
- They Cheyenne County Board of Commissioners sent out ballot to determine whether landowners in east Cheyenne County want to form a pest control district.
- When the men faced the women in the Independence Day softball game, many were sure the women faced a rout. But aided with some rule changes and friendly downright helpful (some said paid) umps, the women won the final two games.
75 Years Ago - July 13, 1951
- The Southeast Colorado Power Association has brought electrical service to 70% of the rural area. There are still 2000 farm families waiting to be connected to the co-op power lines.
100 Years Ago - July 9, 1926
- Galatea: The 4th was celebrated in most places by the good old fashioned picnics. Not much fireworks but lots of fried chicken and mother’s famous jelly cake.
