FIRE DISTRICT WORK SESSION

March 13, 2016

On Friday, March 13^th, the Kiowa County Board of Commissioners met with representatives from DOLA, Mayors, Fire & Sheriff Department personnel, County Administrator, and the Emergency Management Coordinator to begin preparations for a County Fire District.   Initial draft documents consisting of a service plan, by-laws, and a budget were reviewed and discussed.  The representatives from DOLA , the Department of Local Affairs, provided specific information on Special Districts and a timeline to get the Fire District on the ballot for the November Elections.  Responses from all parties concerned were positive and a plan to move forward was initiated.
