Funeral Services – Lillian "Lill" Wilson Penn

August 10, 2023, Jesus carried Lillian home.  Lillian was born September 2, 1925, in Oakland, California, to Charles and Cordelia Gay.  Her only sibling was her younger brother, Charles (Chuck) Gay.

Lillian graduated from Berkeley High School in California and then met Jimmy John Penn while he was in the navy.  They were married January 3, 1945.

They began their family in California and then later moved to Eads.  They owned pharmacies in Eads and Las Animas. Lillian helped with the pharmacies and tended to her children.

Later, she started painting and her passion for art lead her to attend Otero Junior College, where she completed several art classes.  She was an accomplished artist and created many paintings of southern Colorado, portraits, and animals.  Her favorite subject was Aspen trees.

Lillian was a faithful member of the Praise Community Church in Eads.

Lillian and Jim have five daughters, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 16 great, great grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Praise Community Church in Eads.  Burial will follow in the Eads Cemetery.
