RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS

BOARD MEETING July 7, 2022

The Kiowa County Hospital District Board met in special session on July 7, 2022, at 6:32 pm at the Cobblestone Inn Meeting Room. 

District Board members present were: Mary Eikner, Pam Cole, Karl Eikenberg, Doug Uhland, and Matt Prince. 

Others present: Rachel Bletzacker, Renay Crain, Jeanette Filpi, Shannon Dixon, and Beth Spady. 

CALL TO ORDER 

The meeting was called to order by Matt Prince, Chairman of the Board at 6:32 pm. 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA 

Motion to approve the agenda as presented was made by Pam Cole. Karl Eikenberg seconded the motion. All aye. 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

Congratulations to Rachel Bletzacker on successfully passing the Nurse Practitioner exams. 

EXECUTIVE SESSION 

A motion was made by Pam Cole to go into executive session for the purpose of personnel matters regarding the CEO position pursuant to and as permitted by CRS 24-6-402( 4)(f). Karl Eikenberg seconded the motion. All aye. 

Executive session convened at 6:35 pm and was returned to regular session at 7:07 pm.

After returning to regular session, a motion was made by Mary Eikner to list Cole White and Christopher Besser as the two finalists for the CEO position. Doug Uhland seconded the motion. All aye. 

The Board would like to conduct face to face interviews with each candidate around the end of July. Each candidate will also participate in a meet and greet with KCHD staff. 

The Board and staff will need to brainstorm potential housing options for the new CEO. 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

There was no public comment. 

The Board did discuss the need for recruitment of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). There are several classes being offered over the next few months.

ADJOURNMENT 

Pam Cole made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Karl Eikenberg seconded the motion. All aye. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 pm.
