May 17, 2022

9:41 AM-Trespassing-Brandon, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 12000 block of CR 58 for a report of trespassing. The landowner stated that they did not want to press charges due to the subject being invited by the individual leasing the property. Murdock cleared the scene.

6:17 PM-Lockout-Eads, CO

  • Undersheriff Swanson responded to Cobblestone for a vehicle lockout. Swanson was able to unlock the vehicle.

8:31 PM-Welfare-Eads, CO

  • Undersheriff Swanson responded to 7th and Luther Street for a juvenile sitting in the middle of the street. Swanson was unable to locate the party.

May 18, 2022

3:47 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 North

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 74 MPH in a 50 MPH zone, and a DNA Surcharge.

May 19, 2022

9:57 AM-Agency Assist-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to the Helipad to assist the ambulance and flight crew with security. Negley cleared the scene.

11:53 AM-Civil Standby-         Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 400 block of East 15th street for a civil standby. Murdock ensured there were no issues and cleared the scene. 

2:54 PM-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 287 at approximately Mile Marker 119 for a report of a dangerous semi. Negley initiated a traffic stop on Highway 96 at Mile Marker 169. Reporting Party Did not want to sign. Negley issued a warning and cleared the scene.

8:16 PM-Agency Assist-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 200 block of west 10th street for a 911 call to ensure ambulance didn’t need to be dispatched for a rolled or broken ankle. Murdock checked on the individual and he declined the ambulance, so Murdock cleared the scene. 

10:01 PM-Traffic Problem/Warrant-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley initiated a traffic stop on Highway 287 Mile Marker 106. Negley took the wanted party, Carl Jesse Ritcheson into custody on a Failure to Appear warrant out of Prowers County.  Negley transferred custody over to Colorado State Patrol that followed the party to Prowers County for a PR Bond.

May 20, 2022

11:35 AM-Animal Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to the 900 block of Goff Street in Eads for a report of a dangerous dog. Negley took the dog to the pound and issued a summons to Jeremy Brown for 18-9-204.5(3)(a)(e)(1) Unlawful Ownership of A Dangerous Dog. Sergeant Murdock transported the dog to the Lamar Animal Shelter and Negley cleared the scene. 

1:02 PM-Public Service-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 96 Mile Marker 158 for a report of a motorist with a blown tire, stuck in the road. Negley helped with traffic control and changing the tire. Negley cleared the scene.

6:34 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 88 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

9:20 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 74 MPH in a 50 MPH zone.

10:28 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a warning

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 78 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

May 21, 2022

12:42 AM-Abandoned-Sheridan Lake, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was on routine patrol and saw an abandoned vehicle on Leo and Colorado in the middle of the road in Sheridan Lake, Colorado.  Murdock tried to get ahold of the registered owner by phone and knocking but no return.  Murdock red tagged the vehicle and notified the owner the next day. 

9:23 AM-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley and Sergeant Murdock were called out to Highway 287 Mile Marker 109 for a report of a broken down semi blocking the southbound lane of traffic. Negley and Murdock worked traffic control until the tow truck came.

May 22, 2022

10:03 AM-Traffic Accident-Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to Highway 287 for a report of a traffic accident. Upon arrival Marlow turned the scene over to the Colorado State Patrol. 

9:21 PM-Public Service-Sheridan Lake, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 600 block of Sheridan Avenue for a bonfire during a fire ban.  Murdock spoke to the residents, and they were not aware of the fire ban.  

May 25, 2022

12:05 PM-Fraud-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was notified of a possible scam and threats.  Murdock requested that the individual stop contact with the parties and try to retrieve money through the app used for transfer. 

1:51 PM-Public Service-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to the 14000 block of Tumbleweed Trail for a report of a lift assist and helped transport the party via ambulance.

7:52 PM-Public Service-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley stopped while on routine patrol at Highway 287 Mile Marker 100 to assist a convoy of vehicles stopped on the side of the road. Negley stayed to ensure safety on the highway. Negley cleared the scene.

3:58 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 96 East

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 80 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a warning.

2:24 PM-Welfare-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 287 approximately Mile Marker 110 for a report of an elderly male swerving all over the road. Negley searched South Highway 287 to the county line and was unable to locate the driver. Negley cleared the scene.

7:02 PM-Traffic Problem-Haswell, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 96 at approximately Mile Marker 141 for cattle on the railroad tracks near the highway. Negley got the cattle back behind the fence. Negley cleared the scene.

8:12 PM-Lockout-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 1100 block of Rittgers for a vehicle unlock.

8:30 PM-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock and Deputy Negley were called for a traffic complaint in the 100 block of south 7th. The reporting party did not want to sign. Negley and Murdock went and spoke with the driver and gave a warning.

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 80 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

3:00 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 83 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

5:31 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 96 West

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 84 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

6:07 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 86 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

May 27, 2022

8:18 AM-Public Service-          Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 1100 block of Maine Street for a motorist assist. Murdock helped the party out of her vehicle and the party will get a private tow.

5:57 PM-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to Highway 287 and Highway 96 junction about a reckless driver.  The reporting party did not want to sign for the incident, and only gave a description of a white semi.  Murdock was unable to locate the reckless driver. 

6:34 PM-Weapons Offense-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was on routine patrol on Highway 287 mm 109 when the observed a vehicle speeding. After following behind him in construction, Murdock could not get the driver to yield for approximately 2 miles.  When the defendant pulled over, he was issued a citation for speed and a pair of brass knuckles were confiscated from his vehicle.

8:05 PM-911 Hang-up-Brandon, CO

  • Deputy Negley and Sergeant Murdock responded to Brandon for a 911 hang up. Deputies were unable to locate anyone on the property. 

11:53 PM-Assault-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was called out for a possible domestic situation in progress.  After investigation, the altercation happened between two female parties and neither party wanted to press charges.

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 79 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 89 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 89 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

  • Sergeant Murdock was called out to Queens for a noise complaint after the allotted hours.  Murdock spoke with Division of Wildlife, before speaking to the parties involved and letting them know that the DOW would be out after 10 PM.

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 76 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

4:31 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 96 West

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 79 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

4:46 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 67 MPH in a 50 MPH zone.

May 29, 2022

9:41 AM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 North

  • Corporal Marlow made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 81 MPH in a 50 MPH zone. 

10:26 AM-Controlled Substance                     

  • Corporal Marlow was dispatched to Queens Reservoir for a suspicious party. After investigation, Marlow arrested Frederick Seng of Denver Colorado for 18-18-403.5 Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to Bent County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

8:52 PM-Agency Assist-Arlington, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 96 at approximately Mile Marker 131 for a report of a single vehicle vs. deer accident with injuries. Negley arrived on scene and assisted Colorado State Patrol. Negley cleared the scene.

9:15 PM-Animal Problem-Haswell, CO

  • Deputy Negley was called out to respond to the 200 block of 3rd Street in Haswell for a dog that was ran over. Negley made a phone call to talk to the reporting party. Negley went to the residence to get a statement and deemed this a civil issue.

9:06 PM-Traffic Accident-Prowers County

  • Sergeant Murdock was called out to Highway 50 and Prowers County Road 7 for a two-vehicle accident involving a KCSO employee.  Murdock assisted Colorado State Patrol before clearing the scene. 

May 31, 2022

3:13 PM-Traffic (Criminal Violation)-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Snover was advised by Colorado State Patrol of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 287 South of Eads. Snover clocked the vehicle at 112 mph in a 50 mph construction zone but the vehicle eluded Snover. Snover terminated pursuit and the vehicle was found by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. Snover took custody from Cheyenne County of David Leedean Almaral of Lamar, Colorado and took him to Bent County Jail on $4,000 bond for Drove Motor/Vehicle When License Under Restraint, 42-2-138(1), Speeding 112mph in a Posted 50mph Zone, 42-4-1101(1), Vehicular Eluding 18-9-116.5(1) and Reckless Driving 42-4-1401(1).

2:32 PM-Animal Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to the 300 block of East 15th Street for a report of a lost dog. Negley searched the area and wasn’t unable to find the dog. Negley cleared the scene. Sergeant Murdock found the dog on June 5, 2022, and returned it to the owner.
