May 2, 2022

7:18 A.M.-Urinalysis-Eads, CO

  • Kiowa County Deputies conducted U.A for an individual. 

3:38 P.M.-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 North

  • Corporal Marlow made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 72 MPH in a 50 MPH zone.

May 3, 2022

11:39 A.M.-Suspicious Vehicle-Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to the 44000 block of County Road U for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival Marlow took possession of a stolen license plate and deputies turned over a stolen vehicle to Hooks Towing. 

6:20 P.M.-Lost Property-Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to the 1300 block of Goff Street for a report of lost/stolen property. Upon arrival Marlow requested dispatch to enter Colorado license plate ANOG54 in to CCIC/NCIC as lost /stolen.  

11:12 P.M.-Traffic Stop-          Highway 287 South

  • Corporal Marlow made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 84 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

May 4, 2022

6:38 P.M.-Public Service         -Towner, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock and Deputy Negley was called out to the 25000 block of CR 78 for a home that was evicted, and the renters had been known drug users.  Murdock and Negley cleared the property, destroyed the paraphernalia, and notified the jurisdiction the tenants now live in.

3:49 A.M.-911-Hangup-Brandon, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was called out to the 58000 block of Virginia Avenue in Brandon for a 911 misdial. Murdock was UTL and the phone line remained busy.

10:26 A.M.-DUI-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 100 block of West 15th Street for a report of a male who was passed out in his vehicle.  Murdock found the male subject at Hometown Gas and Grill and after roadsides, arrested Thomas Chase of Eads, Colorado for Driving While Ability Impaired. Chase’s vehicle was towed while waiting for a search warrant. 

6:02 P.M.-Animal Call-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to the 100 block of South Slater Street for a report of a dog without food or water tied up outside. Negley checked the status of the dog. Negley cleared the scene.

8:09 P.M.-Transport-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley and Sergeant Murdock responded to Highway 96 Mile Marker 158 for a report of a suspicious person walking down the highway. Negley gave a courtesy ride to the Crowley County Line. Negley cleared the scene.

11:54 P.M.-Suspicious Person-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was called out to the 800 block of Goff for a car alarm going off.  Murdock searched the area and was unable to locate.

8:34 A.M.-Controlled Substance-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock and Deputy Negley executed a search warrant on a vehicle towed for a DWAI.  Murdock and Negley found evidence of a presumed controlled substance and wrote a warrant for arrest of possession.

9:40 A.M.-Traffic Stop-           Highway 96 East

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 74 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

9:47 A.M.-Traffic Stop-Highway 96 East

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 73 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

6:28 P.M.-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 89 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

May 6, 2022

7:57 A.M.-Burglary-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was called to the 900 block of Maine Street for burglary and felony menacing.  Murdock and Deputy Negley stopped and arrested Seton Wollert of Eads, Colorado at the 100 block of South Slater Street. Deputies transported Wollert to Prowers County and held on $50,000 bond for 1st Degree Burglary with a controlled substance 18-4-202(3), Felony Menacing, 18-3-206(1)(b), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 18-18-428(2).

1:59 P.M.-Civil Standby-         Sheridan Lake, CO

  • Undersheriff Swanson responded to 23000 block of  CR 72 for a civil standby, with no incident.

9:47 P.M.-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 287 South at approximately Mile Marker 110 for a report of a person walking down the highway without any lighting. Negley were unable to locate the party. Negley cleared the scene.

10:23 P.M.-Traffic Stop-          Highway 287 South

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 89 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

May 7, 2022

5:01 P.M-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 287 South at approximately Mile Marker 106 for a report of a Semi that was smoking. Negley Stopped the Semi and informed the driver. Negley cleared the scene.

8:27 P.M.-Public Service-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Loves for a report of a trucker broke down and unable to find a ride. Negley attempted to get a tow for the trucker, and none were available. Truckers said they would attempt to find a ride. Negley cleared the scene.

11:11 P.M.-Traffic Problem-Sheridan Lake, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 96 near Sheridan Lake for a report of Cows on the highway. Negley was unable to locate the cows. Negley cleared the scene.

May 8, 2022

11:50 A.M.-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to Highway 287 south of Eads Colorado for a report of a vehicle dragging a gas line. Upon arrival Marlow conducted a traffic stop and advised the driver to return to Lamar.

8:45 A.M.-Traffic Crime-         Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to Highway 287 South of Eads for a report of a reckless driver. Upon arrival Marlow was unable to locate the vehicle and cleared the scene. 

May 9, 2022

2:29 P.M.-Civil Process-Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to the 1200 block of Luther Street to serve civil papers. Upon arrival Marlow served the papers and cleared the scene.

4:36 PM-Ordinance Violation-Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to the 1000 block of Hickman Street for a possible dog attack. Upon arrival the reporting party did not want to pursue any charges, so Marlow cleared the scene. 

6:38 PM-Animal Problem-Eads, CO

  • Undersheriff Swanson was called out for a dog that was in the middle of the road by Hometown Gas and grill and about got hit. Swanson was unable to locate the dog.

9:36 PM-Theft-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to 100 block of South Slater for a report of a dog theft.  Murdock found the dog at the 900 block of Maine on a chain.  Murdock returned the dog and cleared the scene.  

7:23 PM-Property-Eads, CO

  • Corporal Marlow responded to the 1300 block of Goff Street for a report of a lost licenses plate. Upon arrival Marlow requested the Bent County Dispatch to enter the plate (ANOG54) into the National crime information center and the Colorado crime information center as lost. 

4:12 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 96 East

  • Undersheriff Swanson made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 89 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

4:29 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 96 East

  • Undersheriff Swanson made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 87 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

  • Kiowa County Deputies conducted U.A for an individual.

5:07 PM-Civil Process-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 600 block of East 15th Street to serve civil papers.  Murdock served the party and cleared. 

6:13 PM-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 287 South at approximately Mile Marker 104 for a report of a dangerous driver that almost hit one of the construction crew members. Negley initiated a traffic stop on the motorist and issued a warning. Negley cleared.

May 13, 2022

12:37 PM-Public Peace-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 1200 block of Luther Street for a noise complaint with a dog.  Murdock spoke to the owner, who stated that his dogs are not outside during the early morning hours.  Murdock explained the noise ordinance and cleared the scene.

4:16 PM-Traffic Problem-Haswell, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to Highway 96 MM 141 for a report of a car stalled in the middle of the road.  When Murdock arrived, the vehicle was pushed off the road and the driver had already called his own tow.  Murdock gave more information in case he needed additional assistance and cleared. 

6:09 PM-Traffic Problem-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley responded to Highway 287 South at approximately Mile Marker 97 for a report of a dangerous semi passing in no passing zones and speeding. Deputy Negley was unable to locate the semi. Negley cleared the scene.

1:28 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 78 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

3:23 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 81 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

4:59 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 96 West

  • Sergeant Murdock made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 80 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

7:48 PM-Traffic Stop-Highway 287 South

  • Deputy Negley made a traffic stop and issued a citation for 81 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

May 14, 2022

8:47 AM-Fraud-          Chivington, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to 1305 Goff for a report of fraud over the internet.  Murdock took the report and were notified on May 25, 2022 that the party had received all funds back.  

11:01 AM-Abandoned-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was called to a lot where someone had abandoned their vehicles since December.  Murdock had sent abandonment paperwork, and the owner wanted to collect for lot storage.  Murdock stood by while the parties worked out the information and cleared the scene.

8:24 PM-DUI-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to CR 58 for cattle on the highway, and then were called about someone letting them out of the gate.  Murdock found the suspect and witnessed him failing to use his turn signal on CR N, and after further investigation took Ronald O’Neill of Prowers County into custody and summoned and released him to a sober party for 42-4-1301(1)(b)1 Driving While Ability Impaired. 

9:56 PM-Agency Assist-Eads, CO

  • Deputy Negley received a call about a possible gas leak at the laundromat in Eads. Negley responded to assist the fire department. Negley cleared the scene.

6:20 PM-Agency Assist-Eads, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was notified of an accident in the 47000 block of CR E where the vehicle experienced what appeared to be a mechanical error and ended in the ditch.  Murdock secured the scene and took initial reports until Colorado State Patrol arrived on scene.
