Dwayne was born December 25, 1975, at Lamar to Raymond “Bud” and Sheryl (Page) Dechant, Jr., and passed away July 17, 2025, at his home in Lamar at the age of 49 with his family by his side.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jimmy Page, and paternal grandparents, Ray and Carol Dechant.

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Debbie Dechant of the family home in Lamar; step-children, Megan (Tyler) Thrall of Lamar and Tyler Harris of Sheridan Lake; grandchildren, Brecken, Blayke, and Bowynn Thrall, all of Lamar, and Landen Harris of Tribune, Kansas; parents, Raymond “Bud” and Sheryl Dechant of Hereford, Texas; siblings, Raymond Dechant of Lamar and Lezley (Jeff) Tubbs of Colby, Kansas. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kynlee Dechant and Austin Dechant of Lamar, Cash and Boone Tubbs of Colby, Kansas, Tyson (Rachel) Case of Wichita, Kansas, and Samantha Stonecypher of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandmother, Peggy Page of Lamar; his beloved pets Sadie, Rex, and Rowdy; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family; and a host of friends.

A memorial service for Dwayne Dechant will be held at 10:00 a.m. July 29, 2025, at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ian Blacker officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alta Vista Charter School, either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
