• East End Events- Chirsty Hopkins: Harvest has begun in Towner but will be an unusual harvest as many of us do not have much wheat due to drought conditions.

• Kiowa County Clerk & Recorder, Wayne Singer, said a $500 fine can be imposed for licensing automobiles at other than the owner’s primary residence. This bill becomes effective July 1, 1986.

50 Years Ago - June 25, 1976

• Kiowa County 1776-1976 Super Celebration begins on July 3 with box social and square dance on Maine St. in Eads. July 4 Memorial Sunrise Service, sponsored by Kowa County Churches, potluck picnic, watermelon feed, kid races, baton twirling, softball games, ending with spectacular fireworks display at the Kiowa County Fairgrounds.
