- East End Events- Sharon Scott: I forgot how fast weeds grown with good moisture. I seem to be living on the lawn mower these days.
- Sharon Johnson was honored for her 22 years of service to the Kiowa County Public Library.

- East End Events- Chirsty Hopkins: Harvest has begun in Towner but will be an unusual harvest as many of us do not have much wheat due to drought conditions.
40 Years Ago - June 27, 1986
- Kiowa County Clerk & Recorder, Wayne Singer, said a $500 fine can be imposed for licensing automobiles at other than the owner’s primary residence. This bill becomes effective July 1, 1986.
50 Years Ago - June 25, 1976
- Kiowa County 1776-1976 Super Celebration begins on July 3 with box social and square dance on Maine St. in Eads. July 4 Memorial Sunrise Service, sponsored by Kowa County Churches, potluck picnic, watermelon feed, kid races, baton twirling, softball games, ending with spectacular fireworks display at the Kiowa County Fairgrounds.

- McNeil Chevrolet Co. is making extensive improvements that include new glass brick replacing the north plate glass window, modernizing office space, and new sidewalk
100 Years Ago - June 28, 1926
- The month of May was a profitable one for the cream shippers in vicinity of Eads. Totals sold to merchants and estimated individual shipment runs up $4,800.
- Consumption of ice cream in the U.S. has increased from 1.04 gallon per year per person to 2.08 gallons in 1925
