Representative Ty Winter wins re-election to Colorado House District 47
State Representative Ty Winter has won re-election to Colorado House District 47, according to a statement released November 3, 2026. The win gives him another term representing Southeastern Colorado.
Winter's statement said the race was a contentious campaign marked by personal attacks, accusations and the targeting of his family. It said Winter stayed focused on protecting rural Colorado, defending water and agriculture, reducing the cost of living and standing up for Colorado families.
"I am humbled and grateful for the trust the people of House District 47 have placed in me," said Winter. "This campaign tested my family in ways no family should have to endure. Political disagreements are fair game, but dragging someone's family into the fight crosses a line. My family deserved better, and so did the voters."
Winter said character, integrity and public service should always matter more than personal attacks.
"Elections should be about ideas, solutions, and leadership, not tearing down someone's family or character for political gain. We refused to let negativity distract us from our commitment to Southeastern Colorado."
He also thanked his family and supporters.
"To my family, thank you for your strength, love, and sacrifices. You carried burdens you never should have had to carry. To our volunteers and supporters who knocked on doors, made calls, donated, prayed, and voted for me, stood beside us, this victory belongs to you too."
As he returns to the Capitol, Winter pledged to keep working on several issues. They include affordable living, fiscal responsibility, parental rights, law enforcement, water rights, agriculture and small businesses. He also pledged to work for the preservation of rural Colorado's way of life.
"The election is over, and now it's time to get back to work. I stand for everyone in House District 47, whether they voted for me or not. I will always listen, lead with integrity, and fight for the people of Southeastern Colorado."
"Negative politics may grab headlines, but it doesn't build stronger communities. Character matters. Integrity matters. And the people of Southeastern Colorado matter. I'm proud to stand with them, and I'm ready to keep fighting for our future."
