Stagecoach State Park to close main boat ramp August 19-26 for extension work
Stagecoach State Park will temporarily close its main boat ramp Wednesday, August 19 through Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for construction to extend the ramp and lengthen the summer boating season amid dropping reservoir levels.

The Morrison Cove Boat Ramp on the southeast side of the reservoir will operate with extended hours during the closure: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Park staff cautioned that the construction timeline remains fluid and could change depending on project progress.
"We will continue to monitor water levels and will keep the boat ramps open as long as possible," said Stagecoach State Park Manager Craig Preston. "Our current prediction is that even with the extension, we will likely close to boating shortly after Labor Day."
Park staff warn that dropping reservoir levels have exposed unknown underwater hazards at the end of all boat ramps. Visitors are advised they launch at their own risk.
