The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the death of a three-year-old girl who was hit by a vehicle in a driveway.

The incident happened Sunday around 9:00 a.m. CSP was called to a home near Fontaine Boulevard and Lamprey Drive in unincorporated El Paso County.

According to CSP Master Trooper Glen Brown, the vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old Colorado Springs woman identified as the child’s mother, struck the girl causing serious injuries.

The child was transported to Children’s Hospital in Colorado Spring, and later died from her injuries.

The incident remains under investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected.
