The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man in connection with a homicide in Las Animas County. The suspect is the victim's brother.

The bureau is leading the investigation at the request of the Las Animas County Sheriff's Office.

Friday at approximately 10:00 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a deceased person at a home. The home is in the 13700 block of Winterhawk Drive in Trinidad.

When they arrived, officers found Kevin Boyles, 59, deceased. A friend of the victim had found him and called 911.

Bureau special agents investigated the scene and conducted interviews. They determined that Mr. Boyles' death was a homicide.

Agents then identified the victim's brother, Steven Boyles, 61, as the suspect. They obtained an arrest warrant for first-degree murder.

Saturday, bureau agents and Las Animas County Sheriff's deputies found Steven Boyles. They took him into custody without incident. He was booked into the Las Animas County Jail on the first-degree murder warrant.
