Tables had to be added for place settings at the April Weisbrod Hospital Auxiliary meeting at the JJ’s Ranch House for the following ladies:  Valorie Briggs, Barb Diel, Betty Crow, Cleta Englehardt, Alice Glover, LaVerle Kelley, Doris Lessenden, Opal Miner, Madonna Pollreis, Loretta Seibel, and staff: Teri Simmons-Castle.

President Alice Glover chaired the meeting and complemented those who go to the Extended Care Unit (nursing home) to play Bingo or Bunco on the second Tuesday night of the month.

The ladies approved to buy flowering plants to be planted in the patio and for someone to build one or two raised planter boxes for residents in wheelchairs to help with planting and watering.  They are also buying carnations for vases on Mother’s Day and helping with the National Hospital Week barbeque May 4 at 5:30 p.m.

Teri Simmons-Castle gave each member lovely colored posters of the monthly calendar of activities, and National Hospital Week which is celebrating life stories with fun dress days and activities.  Teri described some of the many and very entertaining activities that she and Tonya Lane have planned.  One of the monthly highlights is when their Adopted Grandkids come from the school with their third-grade teacher, Mrs. Charlene Gifford.  This year they are celebrating that this is the 75th year that the Weisbrod Hospital has served this county and many other communities.

Members complimented Teri Simmons-Castle for her outstanding organization of activities and care for the residents.  They also added how much families and residents appreciate the beautiful big “Happy Birthday Banners” she makes with the cricket machine that the auxiliary helped to buy. Most people were not aware that she supplies and uses beautiful designed papers from her own collection to make these looks so attractive.  She also used the machine to make pretty wall and hall decorations.  She is a valuable employee with a caring heart who works a lot of overtime to implement her creative ideas for the residents and the facility.
