Alexei Munive-Rodriguez, wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Northglenn, was taken into custody Sunday morning after an extensive multi-agency search across southeast Colorado that included a vehicle pursuit ending near Lamar.

Officers responded at approximately 10:03 p.m. Friday to the 10500 block of Irma Drive in Northglenn on a report of a stabbing. A victim was found suffering from apparent stab wounds and was pronounced deceased despite lifesaving efforts. The investigation quickly identified Munive-Rodriguez as a suspect, and Northglenn police issued a statewide alert.

A Lincoln County Sheriff's Office deputy attempted to stop a vehicle connected to the homicide investigation. A pursuit followed, and the suspect vehicle crashed near Lamar. The driver fled on foot.

Saturday, Prowers County Communications warned residents of a heavy police presence along U.S. Highway 50 between County Road 5 and County Road 7 and near North Loves, asking the public to lock doors and secure vehicles while officers searched for a Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 200 pounds, wearing a black sweatshirt with "castle" on the sleeve, black and purple pants, and black shoes.

Lamar Police Department officers, Prowers County Sheriff's Office deputies, and Colorado State Patrol troopers located Munive-Rodriguez hiding in a field and arrested him without incident. He will be transported to Adams County, where he will be held pending the ongoing investigation and criminal proceedings.
