Eads enters the weekend under sunny skies and mild temperatures, with afternoon readings near 80 on Friday and climbing into the low 80s Saturday before a cold front delivers a short-lived dip on Sunday. The National Weather Service in Pueblo expects dry conditions to hold across western Kiowa County through the period, with no measurable precipitation in the forecast.

Friday is sunny and pleasant, with light north winds of 10 to 15 mph and a high near 80. Skies stay mostly clear Friday night as the low settles around 41, with winds turning out of the south after midnight.

“Max temps today well above average again under the ridge, with 70s/80s widespread at lower elevations,” Eric Petersen, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service forecast office in Pueblo, wrote in the Area Forecast Discussion.

A passing front cools Sunday

Saturday brings the warmest day of the holiday weekend, with full sun and a high near 82. Winds shift to the north-northwest in the afternoon and turn breezy Saturday night at 15 to 20 mph behind a cold front. The front knocks Sunday's high back to around 68 under mostly sunny skies before temperatures rebound early next week.

Weekend outlook

After Saturday's warmth and Sunday's cooler interlude, the ridge rebuilds. Monday is sunny with a high near 86, and Tuesday stays sunny but turns breezy, with northeast winds of 15 to 20 mph and a high near 84.

Extended outlook

The warming trend continues into the new week. Monday and Tuesday both feature dry, sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s, with overnight lows in the 40s. Winds are generally light to moderate, briefly picking up out of the northeast on Tuesday.

Fire weather

No Red Flag Warning is in effect for Kiowa County, and the Pueblo forecast office reports no active fire weather warnings at this time. Even so, dry fuels and gusty afternoon winds on Saturday and Tuesday warrant routine caution with any outdoor burning.
