BOARD MEETING

August 26, 2026

CALL TO ORDER

The regular meeting of the Kiowa County Hospital District Board was called to order by Karl Eikenberg, Vice Chair at 6:40 pm at the Cobblestone Inn Meeting Room.

ROLL CALL

District Board members present were Pam Cole, Mary Eikner, Jerry Weber, and Karl Eickenberg. Absent was Doug Uhland.

Others present: Beth Bell, Mei Lan Lening, Jasmine Shea, Shannon Dixon and Aidan Hettler via zoom.

PUBLIC COMMENT

There was no public comment.

A motion was made by Jerry Weber to approve the above consent items as presented. The motion was seconded by Mary Eikner. All aye.

STANDING REPORTS

MONTHLY FINANCE REPORT

The Board reviewed the CFO report. There were no questions.

MONTHLY OPERATIONS REPORT

Beth Bell told the Board about the EPHC Conference in Denver August 19-21. Weisbrod Health had 14 members from the leadership team attend. Connie Richardson was awarded the Stronger Together Award. The video is on Facebook and on our website. All awards will be posted on there from now on.

Weisbrod Health will have the Annual Chili Cook Off on October 30th. We will also have

Connie’s retirement party at the same time.

Beth Bell and Shannon Dixon went to tour a building that Weisbrod Health was approached to buy.

Beth Bell told the Board that Weisbrod Health has signed an agreement with Lincoln Health for Orthopedic services. She has also asked UCHealth for more cardiology hours monthly. Beth Bell and Aidan Hettler are working on getting Specialty providers lined up so when the new clinic is up and running, we will have the providers ready to fill the roles.

MEDICAL STAFF

Beth Bell gave updates on when Providers will be back and when new ones will start. Shaelynn Rouse will be starting the first part of October. Celia Ibanez should be able to start October 1st as soon as all her credentials are done. Dr. Dennis Linderman’s contract has been updated, and he will be having 14 on call shifts per month. Dr. Erik Ritch will be back on September 5th. Dr.

Sadaway has signed a contract to start next September. Dr. Thorndike will start seeing established patients via Telehealth monthly starting October 22nd.

GRANT UPDATE

Beth Bell gave update on the different grants that have submitted. RHTP Grant has been submitted. Weisbrod Health should know by the end of September if we have been awarded the grant. We have not heard back on the HRSA Grant.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

AMBULANCE BARN

Beth Bell updated the Board on the Ambulance Barn. We are still on track to finish September 15th. Upstairs storage is framed in and the concrete is done. Including the alleyway and gutters. Beth Bell is still waiting for Town Council to have a meeting so she can discuss the gutters.

CLINIC UPDATE

Beth Bell updated the Board on the New Clinic. We are still on track to finish April 2027. Should see signs of the actual building in December. Reliant has said they will be putting in concrete posts to keep the fence up next week.

JUWI PROJECT

Beth Bell stated that the JUWI project has been approved conditionally.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

It was not necessary to meet in executive session.
